The parachute centre is located in the main building at Swansea Airport, which is situated on the Gower Peninsula near Swansea city. The centre operates a turbine Islander aircraft with skydives usually taking place from 12,000 feet. All Tandems are carried out by British Parachute Association Tandem instructors with thousands of jumps experience. The airport has an excellent canteen serving food throughout the day and also offers activities such as microlight and helicopter flights.
Experienced Jumpers Prices Flight fees to 13000 feet - £23 Flight fees to 6000 feet - £15 Equipment - We have equipment for hire at £10 per jump (£5 charged for packing if required)
Tandem Skydive A tandem jump is the ideal first time freefall experience, being by far the quickest, easiest and hassle free way to make a skydive. You'll experience the ultimate thrill of free falling at 120 mph after jumping from an aircraft then enjoy a long high performance canopy ride with an experienced BPA Tandem Instructor. Our aim is to allow you to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush while knowing that safety is our number one priority.
AFF AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) is the fastest route to becoming a skydiver with one-to-one instruction throughout. You receive a personalised intensive course to teach you all the skills necessary to become a qualified skydiver. A full days training is required prior to jumping covering everything you need to know - the equipment, aircraft procedures, sequence of the skydive, body position and how to deploy, control and land your parachute.
Aircraft
G-LEAP, Skydive Swansea’s BN2T Turbine Islander is a high performance twin-turbine aircraft capable of carrying a full load of skydivers to altitude in approximately 10 minutes.
The Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander started life as a 1960s British light utility aircraft, mainline airliner and also a cargo aircraft designed and originally manufactured by the company Britten-Norman of the United Kingdom. The Islander, as it is known, is one of the best-selling commercial aircraft types produced in Europe during that period. Although designed in the 1960s, over 750 are still in service with commercial operators around the world, lending strong credibility to the aircraft's pedigree. The aircraft is also used by the army and police forces in the United Kingdom to this day and is a popular light transport with over 30 military aviation operators around the world. The staff at Skydive Swansea pride themselves on providing a professional service with the highest regard for the rules and regulations laid down by the British Parachute Association and the Civil Aviation Authority. The aim of Skydive Swansea is to allow you to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush while knowing that safety is at all times the top priority.

The UK’s premier freefall skydiving and parachute specialists; a company run by British Parachute Association (BPA) Instructors. We offer beginner skydiving courses tailored to your skills and ambitions. We only operate at our own and other BPA affiliated skydive centres. Whether you come to us with some experience or are a complete novice to this exciting sport, we have something for everyone.
Owned and operated by professional skydiver Martin Harris, London Parachute School has been open since 1983 and is The Closest Skydiving Centre to London, with fast links from the M1, M5, M6 and M40 motorway systems. The "Drop Zone" is located at Lewknor which is on the Buckinghamshire / Oxfordshire borderless than 60 minutes from London and is probably the friendliest and most social skydiving club in the UK. There is always something going on from competitions, corporate events and charity fun-days, to progression courses and seminars for our club members.
Tandem Sydiving Tandem skydiving is designed for those people who wish to try Skydiving for the first time, without the need for a time consuming course. Available from Tuesday to Sunday either for a morning or an afternoon report time, Tandem skydivers should normally budget a half day from start to finish. All Tandem skydivers will receive a personalised certificate upon completion
AFF One step further, the AFF Level1 is for you. This course requires more commitment as you will need to budget two days in order to achieve your aim. The first day is spent in the classroom learning about all aspects of freefall and canopy control through a series of lectures and practical lessons. The second day you will be taking to the skies at altitudes up to 13,000 feet and feeling the rush of adrenaline as you take your first "leap of faith" into the skies above. All students will receive a personalised certificate and a log record of their jump on completion.
AFF Full Course Convinced you want to become a Skydiver? Ready to take that leap and commit to an adrenaline infused lifestyle, fuelled by throwing yourself from an aircraft at heights in excess of two and a half miles? OK but next time you are sat in the office, not concentrating on work, looking out of the window and wishing you were at the "Drop Zone"..... Don't say we didn't warn you!
Static Line This course uses the most up-to-date equipment in the world of parachuting. The square canopies used are highly manoeuvrable and are the same type used by many experienced jumpers, and is the first step in the BPA Category System. The parachute is opened automatically when you exit the aircraft, are fun to fly, and can give you very light landings.Your jump will be from 3,500 feet giving you plenty of time to have fun and enjoy the view.
The Vertical Wind Tunnel Skydive On your first visit you will be taken into a classroom for your briefing by one of our experienced instructors. This will include watching a short video and learning the safety procedures whilst in the tunnel.
You will then progress to the kit up area where you will be given your helmet, goggles, ear plugs, flight suit and if required, training shoes. Your group will then go through to the tunnel ante-chamber where you will watch the people in the previous group finish their session. Then, when it becomes your turn to fly you take your place in the doorway. The instructor will stand in front of you and, when it is time, give you the signal to lean forward into the airflow. The instructor will take hold of your flight suit and hold onto you. YOU ARE NOW FLYING!

You freefall for 25-30 seconds before the parachute opens at about 5000 feet above the ground. Enjoy the cruise down to the landing area opposite the club house. A tandem skydive also makes an incredible gift, you can buy a tandem skydiving voucher right now. You will experience the rush and amazing beauty of freefall at around 120 mph on your very first skydive. This will last just under a minute and you can enjoy the whole incredible experience knowing that you're in the hands of a friendly, qualified skydiving professional. Your skydiving adventure can also be filmed by one of our talented cameramen who will film your pre-jump excitement, journey on the plane and tandem skydive itself. It's a great souvenir and a wonderful way of showing friends and family what you have achieved. It's low cost, exciting and if you want it to be - a genuine step towards learning to become a skydiver youself. Your first parachute jump is from 3,500 - 4,500 feet and your parachute will automatically deploy as you fall away from the aircraft using a device called a 'static line'. It's a great and 'hands on' alternative to a tandem skydive. Visit www.skydivenorthwest.co.uk for more details

180 World Record Women Skydivers Take Breast Cancer Awareness To New Heights “Jump for the Cause” Attempts New World-Record to Benefit Breast Cancer LOS ANGELES – Skydivers from around the world will join together to set a new women’s world record in formation skydiving to raise funds for breast cancer research at City of Hope. Sponsored by Jump for the Cause (www.jumpforthecause.com), the leading nonprofit organization that organizes skydiving fundraisers, the event is being held in Perris, California from September 21- Sept 27 to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Perris Valley Skydiving Center www.skydiveperris.com is the largest in North America. This year, the 180 women who Jump for the Cause (JFTC) hope to raise a half-million dollars to help the more than 200,000 American women diagnosed in 2009, and the one in seven women around the globe who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetimes. Ten planes will be used to lift the 180 women to 17,000 ft. for about 30 jumps over one week to build the new Women’s World Freefall record. For the first time, a concurrent record attempt will be launched. The first All Men’s 100-way, also to be held at Perris Valley Skydiving, will also be a fundraiser for City of Hope. Led by Kate Cooper-Jensen, one of the foremost skydivers in the world, Jump for the Cause was founded in conjunction with Mallory Lewis, Lamb Chop’s sister, after her mother, legendary puppeteer Shari Lewis, lost her battle with cancer in 1998. JFTC was incorporated in 1999 with Brad Hood of Jump Run Productions and Tony Domenico of Square One Parachute Sales. Over a six-day period at the Women’s World Record Skydive, Lewis and participants raised more than $300,000 to fight breast cancer and set a new world’s record by joining 118 women in formation in mid-air. Subsequent events in 2002 and 2005 have raised nearly $1 million and broke the previous world record with 131 women in 2002 and 151 in 2005. “The first year was emotional because of the tribute to mom, but every time we do this I am thrilled with the passion and commitment these women continue to show to support breast cancer research at City of Hope,” said Lewis. “This event is organized by women and performed by women to save women. The money we raise is helping to bring hope to many people around the world,” she added. “And, as always, Lamb Chop will be riding in the jumpsuit of one of our record-holders and will officially be on the record attempt. She’s the only puppet in the world to do this.” Lamb Chop’s comment was, “Weeeeeeee!” Participants for the event include breast cancer and other cancer survivors. These women represent most of the states in America and more than 26 countries and have occupations that range from surgeons to airline pilots to safety engineers. All are passionate about the cause, because in the time it takes to skydive from leap to landing at least one woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer. For more information about Jump for the Cause, log on to www.jumpforthecause.com and on twitter @jumpforthecause. The public is welcome to try the Perris Wind Tunnel or skydive with a pro. The Online DZ I’m a regular skydiver at Peterlee Parachute Centre. In saying that, I should perhaps explain that I am as regular a skydiver as I can be bearing in mind my lifestyle. Like other skydivers there are hurdles in my way, that prevent me from participating in my chosen sport. Not only am I married with children, but also I have a job that involves working every other weekend. The work is a necessary evil that allows me to pay for jump tickets, so I shouldn’t really complain. On top of that every Sunday morning is taken up with my youngest son’s football (yet another passion of mine). So “me time” out of the home, is pretty much limited, a situation I am sure many skydivers appreciate. I’m approaching the magic 100 jumps soon, and hope to progress beyond it as soon as time and money allows. My other commitments (namely family and home) mean the amount of free time out of the home to spend on skydiving is limited. However I do have limited time in the home, to spend online, on my other interest, my computer. Web design has been a passion of mine for quite some time, and Ian from Peterlee Parachute Centre spotted the opportunity to utilise my skills, hence the creation of his website www.skydiveacademy.org.uk Well it soon became clear to me as a skydiver, is that what I needed, and I presumed other skydivers wanted, was an online drop zone. It would be open no matter what day it is, and unlike other DZ,s the weather couldn’t affect it either. So even if there is a gust of wind above 20 mph, or low cloud cover there would be somewhere to hang out. Hence the creation of www.JustSkydivers.com So at the latter stages of 2008, the idea was conceived. I thought about what I would want to see on an online DZ. I wanted videos, photos, the opportunity to ask for help or advice, the chance to speak to other skydivers about their experiences whether good or bad. It had to be friendly, with no elitism. It needed to allow me to create areas that I wanted to talk about even if they didn’t currently exist. I wanted to know what was going on at other dz’s not only my local one. I realised at this point that I wanted a LOT! So I spoke to other skydivers about what they wanted, what sources of information would be of benefit to them. What they would like to see. How much control would they want over the website? The consensus of opinion was pretty much that for all of this you had to visit several sites, and even then it was not all available. A goal was set – to help promote skydiving in the UK. To let skydivers have an online DZ to help them progress their skydiving no matter what their skill level or discipline, even when the weather was unsuitable for jumping. To make them feel welcome and a vital part of the community. To listen to their opinions and modify the environment to meet their needs. In December 2008 www.justskydivers.com was first launched into the wind as a metaphorical widi. After a lot of research and time (when Peterlee was closed and I had free time available) JustSkydivers.com was deployed onto the World Wide Web to see what way the wind was blowing. An online DZ to provide skydivers with what they wanted – all in one place. This wasn’t an easy task, and reality had to be taken into account. Some features would possibly encounter a “mal” before they were sorted, the “opening” on some plug-ins would be a bit hard! However I was determined to overcome these problems during the beta test. With the help and support of some of the Peterlee regulars we ironed out the creases so to speak, and arranged the site into a neat package that “ticked all the boxes” to what was required from an online DZ. The site is on a constant cycle of development. We are continuously looking for improvements to enhance users experiences of the Online DZ. We encourage feedback from skydivers, and listen to all that is received. This in short is JustSkydivers.com. Paul Bloomfield

As an additinal service to our members at www.justskydivers.com we have launched a website which shows all skydiving related items currently for sale on Ebay. www.onlinedz.co.uk quickly scans Ebay and shows all items that contain the word Skydiving. These are listed in the order to which they are due to finish. Earliest first. The site is constantly refreshed to ensure that all skydiving items are listed. In short if the item isn't showing on www.onlinedz.co.uk then its not on ebay either. This service is of course FREE, just like all the other services offered by www.justskydivers.com. If you do bid and win an item, JustSkydivers receive a small percentage of the final valuation fee. This revenue will be used to help towards the costs of the current server. Remember when buying from Ebay to ensure that you do all that you can to ensure that you are not falling victim to a scam. Check the sellers feedback, see what other items he has bought or sold, read his feedback, check its been left by several different Ebay members. Read the description several times so as to make sure that you know exactly what is for sale. Email the seller to get any quentions you have answered. Next check what payment options are being offered. As a buyer - paypal is ideal. Paypal certainly doesn't protect you as a seller, but it certainly does as a buyer. In that if your goods are not received, and you believe that they may not arrive, you have up to 30 days to reclaim your money via Paypal. Remember if something looks to good to be true on Ebay, then it probably is. www.onlinedz.co.uk

BPS has been a professional Skydiving Centre since 1977, providing quality services for both Beginning and Experienced Skydivers all year round. Skydives are normally from at least 13,000ft, using two fast 16-place turbine-powered Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft. For Beginners, we offer three options: our Basic Skydiving Course (using the 'RAPS' static line system), the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Course, and Tandem Skydives. For a 'taster' of our sport, Tandem Skydives provide you with an experience of around 50 seconds in freefall while securely attached to an experienced BPA instructor! If your aim is to become a Skydiver in your own right, then either the Basic Skydiving or Accelerated Freefall (AFF) courses are for you. These alternative courses each take about 18 skydives to complete, at which point you will be eligible to apply for your Skydiver's International 'A' Certificate. As a full time skydiving centre, we are in an excellent position to offer ongoing coaching to intermediate and experienced skydivers, from help in choosing a first set of equipment through to enhancing skills up to Competition level - with further training from National Champions and World Record Holders.

We first launched JustSkydivers.com at the start of December 2008. This was pretty much just as a beta test to iron out a few creases and see what features people liked or disliked. Come the start of January 09 we opened up the website for all skydivers. As you all know JustSkydivers is a brand new website and we are trying to make it as fun as possible. A lot of changes and additional applications will be added over the next few days and weeks. I appreciate all of your patience in the implementation stage please keep posting those thoughts on the site and any ideas you may have to improve the service. We need all members to keep spreading the word to all of your skydiving friends so we can make this the best online dropzone. We do listen to all ideas and requests because we want to keep everyone happy and entertained. So while we are working hard to make this as fun as possible please keep uploading those videos and pictures, send those gifts, create your own blog etc etc. Please remember that this site is for the members, so if there is something you dont like, or something you want adding - LET US KNOW. We will take it into consideration when considering future changes. Even if its just a little something that you think could be better - your ideas are very much appreciated. One of the most recent features we have added is the gifts feature - we need ideas of additional gifts to add, so please feel free to send your ideas. One of the polls we currently have running is to see if there is a requirement for a video upload feature. If people want it, it will be installed. This will be a costly procedure hence the need for the poll first. In the meantime we are trying to develop a suitable youtube plugin. This will be installed as soon as its finalised. Youtube video can currently be added in the groups section. On the subject of groups, please feel free to create any skydiving related groups that you wish. Remember all features on this site are free to its members - so if you want to create a photo album, create a blog, list a item for sale in the classified section, seek advice, or simply arange your next skydive with your friends its all free on JustSkydivers.com Events plugin added. This should be working fine now, and can be found under "My Apps".
I need to make the events more visible to other users - and this is something i'll be working on, and should have it up and running very soon. To view upcoming event simply visit http://www.justskydivers.com/user_event_browse.php We have completely revamped the current videos pluign on JustSkydivers, making it exceptionally easy for you to show your skydiving videos to the world. To add video's simply click on videos under "my apps" then click on videos. Create a playlist, then simply click add video. Copy and paste the youtube url and your done. On the video upload side, we are still trying to develop the plugin so as to allow easy uploading, hopefully this feature will be available very soon. The events plugin has been modified, making upcoming events visible on the whats new page. If you can think of any other features we should add or improve, please let us know and we will see what we can do. The video upload section is now up and running. It makes it very easy to upload videos direct or simply to add a video from youtube. All Skydiving videos are welcome. Hopefully before too long we will also be able to add categories to the video section. But more on this later. Forum. We have now added a forum to the site aswell. Again its open to anything skydiving related, there is a category for everything else aswell, should you wish to ask something not related to skyding or the justskydivers website. Free Gifts. We curtrently have a few free gifts available - nothing amazing i'm afraid - but details can be found in the following posts in the forum - www.justskydivers.com/forum/JustSkydivers-Website/Everything-Else/Free-pullup-cord-for-all-members-14-1.html and www.justskydivers.com/forum/JustSkydivers-Website/Site-Issues--faq039s/Bumper-sticker---free-or-small-charge-Anyone-interested-191-1.html Hopefulluy we will have more free stuff soon! Gifts feature - This has now been removed, 1 because it wasn't used much, and the other reason being it was causing a few errors. If you think we should re-install it please let us know.
