Is it because after spending Christmas day with your mother-in-law , then thats where you want to put her , In a box (preferably a coffin!) ?  

List your outlook on this subject the more comical the better ! 

Not sure if its just referring to in laws.

I think its because everyone gets that wound up on xmas day, they are ready to fight just about any bugger the next day - not just in laws.
